PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Lavington Square Shopping Centre (in NSW) was a full refurbishment of existing amenities within the active shopping
centre. The scope included full demolition strip out including hazardous materials– on-the-fly amendments to a very basic
concept plan to suit existing conditions and project delivery within an extremely tight time frame. Many of the required
products had lengthy procurement lead times and the lack of ramp up time for the team meant an inability to book trades
in at the busiest time of the year.
CLIENT REQUIREMENT
A rejuvinated set of amenities after a series of arson attacks closed down these facilities within a major shopping centre.

APPROACH & OUTCOME
In close collaboration with the Operations Manager, our team ensured adherence to strict timeframes and noise restrictions, performing what could only be described as construction miracles to completely strip out and refurbish the existing arson affected amenities within the Lavington Square Plaza. Even with an already tight schedule at the tender stage, further changes by the design team and procurement process cut another third off the timeline. Nevertheless, the deadline was met early through the cooperative efforts of trades and effective project management.
